Plenty of Pit Bulls
Plenty of Pit Bulls keeps dogs in foster homes in and around Gainesville. They concentrate on pit bulls because breed prejudice makes them less adoptable and subject to high rates of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Most of their volunteers and fosters live in the Gainesville area, but they have fosters, volunteers, and adopters in Ocala, Jacksonville, Alachua, Palatka, and beyond. North Carolina
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue supports North Carolina, South Carolina, and parts of Virginia and places boxers solely within foster homes. This way, the dogs receive one on one care, as well as the love attention that only comes from being in a family environment. Carolina Bully Breed Rescue is a small rescue located in Albemarle, NC. They rescue bully breeds mainly the American Pitbull Terrier in NC and surrounding states. They also have other “bully breeds” from time to time (This includes but isn’t limited to American Staffordshire Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans, Mastiffs, Great Danes, Boxers, etc…). Carolina Adopt-A-Bulls Rescue is located in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina focusing on rescuing pit bulls and pit bull mixes. They advocate to eliminate breed restrictions and end pit bull bans. Explore adoption opportunities.
Merit Pit Bull Foundation
Merit Pit Bull Foundation strives to ensure the success of their dogs and their potential adopters. They want the dog and owner to feel a connection and know that the dog is entering into a successful placement. Dogs will remain in the care of MPBF for a minimum of 30 days to allow their intake and foster teams time to further assess each dog and determine what kind of home will be the best fit.
South Carolina
South of the Bully
South of the Bully is a 100% volunteer run, foster-based organization that facilitates the rescue and placement of homeless dogs identified as pit bulls. Their vision is to strengthen and preserve the public image of pit bull type dogs through education and awareness.
Virginia
Bully Paws Pit Bull Patriots
Bully Paws Pit Bull Patriots serves shelters in the MD/DC/VA area and are 100% volunteer driven. Many county shelters do not allow the adoption of pit bulls directly to the public and this shelter’s role is also to facilitate a safe and thoroughly screened adoption. Their primary focus is on pit bulls/pit bull mixes facing euthanasia from animal control shelters throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
West Virginia
